At Living for Zachary, we’re committed to creating lasting change in our community. But change doesn’t happen without many feet on the ground doing the work each day. Each year, hundreds of volunteers join the Living for Zachary Team as the hands and feet of our mission, dedicating their time to reach hearts in North Texas with life-saving programs. It is because of the passion of these volunteers that we are able to deliver on our mission and impact thousands of lives.
Through a challenging and unexpected year for many, we are proud to recognize the perseverance and tremendous work of the Living for Zachary Volunteer Team in 2020.
Although the circumstances of 2020 were unexpected, the dedication of our volunteers was unwavering. As soon as we were able to re-open programs in the Summer of 2020 after a brief hiatus due to COVID-19, our volunteers stepped up to make it happen. For every need, there was a Living for Zachary Volunteer who said, “I’m here to help!”
Here are just a few of the many ways Living for Zachary Volunteers made an impact in 2020:
- Checking in youth and their parents during heart screening events across North Texas
- Welcoming Heart Heroes during CPR training classes
- Assisting staff with tasks at the Living for Zachary Office
- Educating the public during community events such as the HeartBeats Health Fair
- Setting up, welcoming guests, and assisting with checkout during the HeartBeats Gala
- Serving on the Board of Directors or a Committee
- Assisting with donor outreach and recognition
- Spreading awareness of L4Z’s mission with friends and family
