Board of Directors Spotlight: Myra Robinson

Get to know the leadership team behind the mission! This month, we’re spotlighting a member of Living for Zachary’s Board of Directors and giving you a look at just one of many passionate people who lead Team L4Z each year.

Myra Robinson

Myra is a busy wife, mother, and leader in the field of heart health in North Texas through her work with the American Heart Association.  “I have been married to my husband Marcus for 23 years.  We have a 17-year-old daughter Kaeden.”  As Vice President of Sales & Business Development – HBS at the American Heart Association in Dallas, Myra knows full well the importance of protecting hearts throughout each stage of life. “I have been employed by the organization for 11 years.  I think the mission of AHA, To be a relentless force for a world of longer healthier lives, ties in well with the Living for Zachary mission.”

It was the origin story of Living for Zachary and Founder Karen Schrah’s dedication to saving lives that originally caught Myra’s attention. “I had the pleasure of hearing the story of Zachary directly from Karen at an American Heart Association event.  I was drawn to her passion and immediately said sign me up, I am ready to help!”

Shortly after this chance meeting, Myra officially joined Living for Zachary’s Board of Directors in 2017.  She quickly got to work, using her non-profit experience in a variety of ways to help Living for Zachary grow and succeed. Myra’s expertise has been a valuable asset to Team L4Z, but it’s her unique perspective as mom of a young athlete that drives her passion for this mission: “My daughter is a student athlete and I want to make sure all athletes are able to enjoy the sport of their choice in a safe, healthy way.  I enjoy giving my time and treasure to organizations that make a difference in the community and Living for Zachary meets both of those needs.”

When asked what she values most about being on the leadership team at Living for Zachary, it’s life-saving programs that stand out.  “I enjoy helping families have a sense of comfort after having a free heart screening.  I love the fact that we place AEDs and train in CPR; both are critical parts of the Chain of Survival.”
