CPR / AED Training and WHY you should know it

Why should everyone in your workplace or school know how to perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED)? Simply stated because it saves lives. It could be a life of a loved one or a life of a co-worker or friend. The American Heart Association (AHA) and other companies have made it easy for you to not only learn CPR but also has made CPR easier to administer. Living for Zachary chooses to use and teach the AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED certification method to as many people as possible. Living for Zachary donates AED machines to youth-based organizations all over Texas. (Click here to apply for an AED ). In addition to donating the AED machine, we also provide FREE CPR/AED certification training. It is a part of our goal to not only make facilities heart safe by donating the AED machine, but to also ensure that at least eight people at that facility know how to use the machine and other life-saving measures, such as CPR.
Why should you know CPR? Because of the following reasons:

  • Heart-related issues are the #1 cause of death in America.*
  • Immediate, effective CPR could more than double a victim’s chance of survival.*

What to do it you suspect someone is suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest incident:

  • Call 911 immediately.
  • Begin CPR.
  • Use an AED to restore heart rhythm as soon as possible.
